FIRST LICENSE RENEWAL?
If this is your first license renewal, you will need to complete 30 hours of pre-approved Post Licensing courses. This consists of 15 hours of required topics and 15 hours of electives. The 15 hours of required topics include three hours each of Fair Housing, Agency, Real Estate Law, Ethics and Offer to Purchase.
NOT YOUR FIRST LICENSE RENEWAL?
If this is NOT your first license renewal, you need to complete 16 hours of pre-approved Continuing Education courses. This consists of eight hours of required topics and 8 hours of real estate related electives. The eight hours of required topics include one hour each of Agency, Contracts and Legal Updates, two hours of Fair Housing, and three hours of Ethics.
Effective July 1, 2008, brokers will be required to complete 24 hours of Continuing Education courses consisting of the 16 hours listed above, plus eight additional hours of pre-approved Real Estate Management and Agent Supervision courses.
All students, in addition to the Post Licensing or Continuing Education requirements listed above, must complete a one-time 2-Hour Limited Service Agency course.
For each course, you may either print out all of the materials on your own for the price specified, or you may purchase the materials preprinted from Alpha College of Real Estate.
| 2-HOUR LIMITED SERVICE AGENCY | |
This course was designed to fulfill the new education renewal requirement for Virginia Real Estate licensees whose license expires after July 1, 2007. This course must be taken in addition to the 16 hours of continuing education or 30 hours of post licensing education. |

| 16-HOUR CONTINUING EDUCATION | |
This course fulfills the 16 hours of continuing education requirements for license renewal. It includes both the eight hours of required courses and eight hours of real estate related elective courses. |

|
| 8-HOUR REQUIRED CONTINUING EDUCATION | |
This course fulfills the eight hours of required topics out of the 16 hours of continuing education requirements for license renewal. Required topics include: agency, ethics, fair housing, contracts and legal updates. |

|
| 8-HOUR REAL ESTATE MANAGEMENT & AGENT SUPERVISION | |
This course fulfills the eight-hour broker continuing education requirement or four hours of elective post licensing credit. |

If you already have a few hours of required education, you may take the ones below to fill in what you are missing. Some of the courses below also count towards post licensing required credits.
