Seat Time
This online course requires that you are active in the course for an amount of time equal to the hours of credit you are receiving. If a course has been approved for eight (8) hours of credit, then that course will require you to be active in that course for eight (8) hours (a classroom hour is 50 minutes). This is called "seat time."

Example:
4 Hour Course- 200 minutes
5 Hour Course - 250 minutes
6 Hour Course - 300 minutes
15 Hour Course - 750 minutes

How to Check “Seat time”
Log onto your online account and go to “My Online Courses”. Next to each course is a “Detail” button. Click on “Detail” and it will give a listing of minutes spent in each unit and exam. Add up all the minutes spent in each unit and exams and this is your current seat time. The online system updates every 12 hours.

Exams
In addition to the seat time required for each course, you will have a unit exam for each topic of credit. You must achieve a minimum of 75% on the exam. You may retake an exam as often as needed within the purchase period. The online system updates every 12 hours.

Completing the Course
With both your seat time and a passing score on your exam, you will be able to complete the course and receive your credit. You may reenter the course or retake the exam as often as necessary during your purchase period to achieve the required seat time or to achieve a passing grade. The purchase period is one year from the date of purchase.

When you have started a unit or attempted an exam, the system may indicate you have completed the course, even if you did not meet Virginia Real Estate Board (VREB) educational requirements. You must meet all VREB requirements (seat time and 75% or higher on all unit exams) before course is complete and credit is sent to the state. You will also be required to turn in a notorized affidavit for your courses in order for your credits to be sent to DPOR. RECampus will e-mail you an affidavit. If you do not receive one, you may download one here. You will only be required to send in one affidavit for all of your courses.

Notifying DPOR
We check these online accounts several times a week. Once we determine that you have completed the requirements for the course, we will prepare a certificate of completion and send to you, as well as send an email to the Virginia Real Estate Board that you have completed the course. This can take up to three (3) business days. The date you complete the required continuing education or post licensing course and have paid your renewal fee to the Virginia Real Estate Board, is the date you have met the licensing renewal requirement. The Virginia Real Estate Board must post the credit to your record before renewing your license. This can take up to 7 business days.
